Day 11: Our Final Medical Clinic

What another wonderful day!

Today was our fourth and last clinic and well, all I can say is that it went magnificently. Although we had one 'interesting' moment - there was a bit of an argument between a few women that included hair pulling for a place in line.  Therefore, while handing out clothing, there were a few 'body guards' (Mr. Breen & our marvelous drivers) to make sure nothing too absurd happened again. Everything else went smoothly, including triage and our pharmacy areas. Though everyday we have our bumps in the road, we stick together as a team and we achieve our goals.

It is coming to our last days here in Nicaragua. As excited as we are to enjoy our last day relaxing at a resort and reuniting with our family and friends, we are realizing now more than ever how many adorable children, and kind people we've bonded with. Though our mission was to help and to reach out to the less fortunate in Nicaragua, I believe that we all have learned and been touched in ways that words can't even express.

I would like to thank everyone who has been following us because one thing that I have learned is that even the slightest things in life are the ones that count the most.

  1. Wow! I am speechless.
Thank you. As much as I need and want to be home to support my family in a very difficult time, I am happy to see this mission through to the end with such fabulous people!

  2. Great work you guys!! You are really making a difference. John, your pictures bring back pleasant memories of our trip. It was most gratifying to see the medical equipment donated by the Owen Sound Doctor's Group. Thank you for posting those pictures.
